St. George Hospital – Dixie Regional MedicalThe St. George Hospital, Dixie Regional Medical Center offers quality health care to the Southern Utah area and beyond. This article offers information on the hospital facilities, specialties, inpatient and outpatient services, dual locations, and Intermountain Health Care affiliation. Located in St. George, on two campuses, Dixie Regional Medical Center is the major medical referral center for southern Utah, southeastern Nevada, and northwestern Arizona. As a service of Intermountain Health Care, the hospital is a non-profit organization that it driven by a mission of excellence and committed to providing treatment to those who live within the communities of this region and have a medical need, regardless of ability to pay. With state of the art facilities, and 245 beds, Dixie Regional is an award winning medical center that features numerous specialty services and provides high quality care. Included among the specialty care services at Dixie Regional Medical center is a nationally certified cardiac center. The facility has received recognition as a Thompson Top 100 Heart Hospital. In addition, they have partnered with the Huntsman Cancer Institute to provide some of the leading cancer treatment services of our time. Recently, the hospital expanded their newborn intensive care services, so that sick babies can be cared for locally, and parents will no longer have to travel. Plus, a Health and Performance Center just opened that optimizes patient wellness with a focus on preventative medicine. The River Road Campus, located on the north side of St. George, is the newest, largest campus of the hospital, consisting of a 420,000 + square foot building that hosts 132 acute inpatient beds and the city's emergency department. The majority of inpatient care needs are met here, including most surgeries. The 400 East Campus primarily operates for women's and children's care, behavioral medicine, acute rehab, and cancer treatment services. Here, babies are delivered and cared for, children are seen by specialists for illness, and stroke and other neurologically impaired patients receive therapy. Dixie Regional Medical Center also provides a number of resources to the residents of the area, including a Cancer Education Center and a Community Health Information Center that answer questions and provide free information to patients and their families. In addition, the operate a complimentary Physician Referral Program, and PRIME Senior Services.
